Gerald McEniry obtained his B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from McGill University in 1975, and subsequently earned Masters’ degrees in both geotechnical engineering (M.A.Sc – 1978) and in construction project management (M.Eng. – 1988). He has been a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec since 1975 and holds several professional accreditations, including being certified as an Arbitrator and Mediator. He is fluently bilingual.
As Senior Consultant with Revay for over 30 years, Gerald has been responsible for analysing, preparing, defending and negotiating numerous complex construction claims in Canada, the United States and internationally (Panama, Costa Rica), as well as providing expert testimony in court, before arbitration panels, in mediations and before Dispute Review Boards. He has particular expertise in analyzing differing soil conditions, delays, lost productivity, quantum of compensation. He also acts as a mediator, arbitrator and as a DRB panel member. He was a member of Board of Directors for the Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF), Region 1 and is the Country Representative for Canada.
He has extensive experience with projects in the fields of heavy construction and civil engineering, namely tunnels, transportation (roads, bridges, airports, railways), hydroelectric projects, deep foundations, port facilities, high rise and industrial structures, water treatment facilities, mines and metallurgical foundries. He has also prepared project schedules for owners and contractors, controlled costs and work progress, carried out audits and other project management reviews. Gerald is regularly invited as speaker at construction conferences.
Prior to joining Revay in 1988, he worked with a major international EPC firm for over 10 years in various capacities, including project manager, resident engineer, geotechnical design engineer, and planning and cost control engineer.
