Dr. Mark Krahn leads the project and enterprise risk management consulting practice at Revay and Associates Limited. Over the past sixteen years at Revay, Mark has provided risk assessment services and decision support on industrial and commercial projects in North and South America and Africa. The projects range in size from $25 million to $25 billion, in sectors including airport development, cogeneration, commercial development, hydroelectric power, industrial plants, infrastructure, IT, LNG, mining/minerals, nuclear power, oil and gas facilities, oil sands, pipelines, rail, thermal power and upgraders.

Mark holds a Ph.D. in chemistry and initially worked in R&D project management and product development, focusing on innovative sustainable utilization of industrial by-products from the mining/minerals, oil and gas and thermal power sectors. In this role he provided both technical and project management leadership in the successful commercialization of a new product/technology.

Mark is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Prior to joining Revay, Mark consulted in project management, specializing in project planning, risk management, stage-gate development, and governance.

Throughout his career, Mark has been active in training through the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University and corporate training; teaching general project management and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification courses. He spent six years on the board of directors for the PMI Consulting Community of Practice and was a member of the development team for the 4th edition of PMI’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and is active in his local PMI Southern Alberta Chapter. Mark has contributed to two books on project management, and he regularly lectures on topics related to his areas of expertise.
