She received her Bachelor of Environmental Studies (BES), Pre-Professional Architecture from the University of Waterloo in 1982 followed by her Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) at the University of Waterloo, 1986.
Sandra brings 30 years of varied construction related experience as a designer, owner and construction manager to her role as a Senior Consultant with Revay. During her tenure with Revay, she has applied this range of experience to focus extensively on the forensic analysis of troubled projects in the preparation or defence of claims, and successful provision of expert reports and testimony on construction projects valued from $10 to $238 million, with the claims ranging anywhere from hundreds of thousands to over $200 million.
Proficient in the area of risk management, Sandra also continues to assist a number of clients with her project management expertise. Immediately prior to joining Revay, Sandra worked for six years as a key member of the construction manager’s staff on the delivery of the $2.1 billion Terminal One at Lester B. Pearson International Airport. Her work included the provision of occupancy turnover, commissioning, contract close-out, code compliance, quality control, contract development services, along with the development of document control and project tracking services. In the role of Commissioning and QA/QC Manager, among other responsibilities, Sandra provided liaison with trade contractors, suppliers, consultants, outside agencies, and owner representatives in order to manage the complex commissioning process for the facility which involved over 265 contracts. The previous nine years were spent working for the owner on various aspects of the $4.4 billion airport development program providing project planning, proposal development, scope definition, and budget and cost control services. Sandra is proficient in the use of various computer software including Microsoft Project and P-6 Primavera.
In addition to presenting at numerous conferences and co-hosting an annual claims management course for the Ontario General Contractors Association, Sandra served as a Director and President of the Ontario Building Envelope Council for a number of years, and now sits on the Toronto Construction Association’s Environmental Committee and Ontario Water Works Association’s Construction Committee. Most recently, she has been awarded the Toronto Construction Association’s Best of the Best “Distinguished Volunteer” Award, while her name has been added to the Who’s Who Legal listing.
