After 41 years at Revay and Associates Limited, Stephen O. Revay has retired. Steve joined his father’s firm in the Montreal office in 1977. He then moved to Calgary in 1979 and opened our Calgary office. While there, he was not only responsible for our Calgary and Vancouver offices but he was also a senior consultant. In that capacity, he’s prepared or evaluated productivity and schedule analyses and quantified the value of claims on a countless number of construction projects throughout Canada, in the United States, the Middle East, Asia and South America. Steve has been qualified as an expert witness in both litigation and arbitration and has testified both in Canada and the United States. He has acted as a mediator and as an arbitrator. He was appointed as the Project Neutral on a $2 billion industrial project.
Steve authored articles for various construction periodicals and conducted numerous seminars on construction disputes to owners and contractors alike. He frequently presented at in-house seminars and guest lectured at the University of Calgary.
He is a Past President of Construction Specifications Canada. Steve is also a Past President of AACE International® (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International).
In addition to his extensive professional knowledge, one of Steve’s greatest assets is his ability to listen to different viewpoints and bring people together by building on common ground. He’s a conciliator by nature which proved invaluable as a member of Revay’s management team.
In retirement, Steve intends to escape the harsh winters of Canada for the desert heat of Palm Springs. He also intends to spend more time with family, including his wife and grandson. We, at Revay, greatly appreciate Steve’s many contributions to our firm and wish him the best of luck as he starts this new chapter in his life!
