The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) has appointed Zey Emir, Revay and Associates Limited’s President, as chair of the 2018 board of directors at its annual general meeting. The general meeting took place in Banff on March 15, 2018.
Zey joined the CCA board in 2009 and has chaired the CCA Manufacturers, Suppliers and Services Council and been vice-chair of the CCA Standard Practices Committee. She joined the CCA executive in 2010 and is a past board member of the Canadian Construction Innovations (CCI).
In her address to the annual general meeting, Zey discussed her priorities for her term at CCA’s helm. CCA turns 100 this year and she intends to review the governance of the CCA in order to improve its effectiveness and maximize efficiency leading into the next 100 years. Zey stated that “This includes being open to diversity and representation that reflects our industry. I believe that having more women, more diversity, provides fresh ideas, different insight and points of view that will strengthen our association”.
