This course aims at reviewing alternate contract strategies, types of claims presented by owners and contractors and the best practices for avoiding construction claims. Also, it explains the importance of communication and documentation, analysis of claims and the various means of quantification including productivity and delay analysis, change management and the various means of resolving disputes.This course uses a variety of approaches to learning including: lecture, class discussion, exercises and case studies. Students will be required to be active participants, for learning occurs best when the individual is personally involved in the learning experiences. The student is encouraged to contribute experiences and ideas that promote discussion and understanding of course concepts.
Who should attend?
Owners, contractors, engineers, architects, designers, project managers, operation managers, client service managers and contract administrators who observe, review or supervise construction contractor performance or otherwise administer construction contracts, whether in private practice or on owners’ staff. They will learn the practical principles of contract interpretation and enforcement and their role in it.

- Quantification of claims including delay and loss of productivity (3 hours)
- Communication and team alignment (2 Hours)
Attendants will receive official certificates endorsing the Continuing Education Units (CEU) or Professional Development Units (PDU) earned, which can be used towards applying for, renewing and maintaining professional certificates offered by AACE or PMI.
