
Suzanne Checkryn

Suzanne Checkryn is a professional engineer with more than 20 years of corporate leadership and project management experience in the engineering and construction industries. She holds an MBA from the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University and has completed a Certificate in Construction Law at York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School. Suzanne is also certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
Throughout her career, Suzanne has worked with major firms in the oil and gas sector to complete complex projects on schedule and to overcome significant engineering and construction challenges. Over the years, she has been involved in a variety of integrated industrial projects through engineering leadership, project management and director-level business development roles. More specifically, she has provided technical and project leadership for five multibillion-dollar projects with complex engineering, supply chain, construction, project controls, risk management and change management requirements. Suzanne’s professional background demonstrates strong business acumen and a high focus on business development, strategy, contract negotiation, commercial management, corporate governance and project execution. In addition to managing construction planning and estimating activities for integrated projects, Suzanne also has extensive field experience working with owner companies, engineering firms, construction contractors and vendors. Her field experience includes multiple construction management roles, along with a demanding owner’s representative role for an international project requiring substantial changes well into construction. |
